my octopus
Bang black ink squirted out from the back of the octopus. The octopus looks like an alien.
pj sharks eat octopuses so they look for things that they can go under like rocks or seaweed to . Craig has been in the water for 320 days. one day when Craig came back, the octopus was dead and a pj shark was eating the octopus.
Pj sharks eat anything that they can find like octopus.

hungry hen
Today we read the activity of how to make a hungry hen. (well it was actually a rooster because it has a comb).
We made a hungry hen out of plates, feathers, coloured paper, a stapler, glue and felts.
Liam said it was fun to make the hen. Eli said it was excellent, Luke wanted to know how to cut out the comb, it was really hard. Bayden thought it was great.

Bayden speech
Hi my name is Bayden, today I am going to talk to you about the issues of driving on Northland’s roads. Firstly, people from all over the world know that drink driving is bad, I have seen people driving crazy because of this. I think it’s a good idea that people should be breath tested more when leaving the pub or other places.
People all over the world understand that you should not drive drunk because you are more likely to cause an accident and really hurt yourself and others OR worse someone could die. Did you know in 2019, 131 people died from alcohol and drug driving.
Another issue and challenge when travelling on the road is bumpy and winding roads. For example, it is really challenging driving from my house to Mangonui because there are very bad pot holes and you could hit your car, ute or truck and get out of control. Also people crash around the sharp corners every year. Once a truck flipped on one of the corners around Paewhenua Island and It was full of sheep, most of the sheep died.
You also need to pay attention to road signs because as they tell you lots of things like when to slow down or when a corner is coming. They tell you there is a school nearby and they tell you the speed limit so Wally doesn’t pull you up and give you a ticket for speeding. Other things that road signs say are slow down. You need to watch for yellow lines painted on the road as that tells people not to overtake cars, this is because cars or trucks might be coming the other way or there could be a really bad corner coming up.
Another thing that you have to be careful of when driving is that you are NOT tired. If you are really tired and get into your car and drive then you could fall asleep and crash. Here are some examples of ways to stay awake: if you have another person in the car with you, you should swap drivers, have a coffee on the way, stop and have a break for a while, sing to the radio and lastly have a really good sleep before you go.
Lastly, I think everyone should do driver training at college. This training is called Defensive Driving. This will help with driving safely on our Northland roads, and will help to keep our death and injury toll down. I am going to sign up to one as soon as I am allowed to drive.

The day my mouth was watery
On Wednesday it was torture we had to wait to eat scones. When I tasted the fluffy cream going down my throat I felt excited. I see a pile of cream and plum jam they were as tall as the sky tower. When I bite into the scones it was super crumbly.
INGREDIENTS
3 cups Edmonds standard flour
6 tsp Edmonds baking powder
¼ tsp salt
extra Meadow Fresh milk
75g butter
1 to 1½ cups Meadow Fresh milk, approximately
METHOD
Preheat the oven to 220ºC. Grease or flour a baking tray.
Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Rub in the butter with your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Add the milk and quickly mix with a round-bladed table knife to a soft dough. For light and tender scones the mixture should be quite soft and a little sticky. Scrape the dough onto the floured baking tray and flour the top.
Working quickly, pat the dough out to 2cm thickness and with a floured knife cut it into 12 even-sized pieces, then separate the scones to allow 2cm space between them. Brush the tops with milk.
Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Place on a wire rack to cool, wrapped in a clean tea towel to keep them soft.
it was ok but maybe a bit more work and more pop words.
I liked the fluffy cream and plum jam.
